Scantily clad...

'ello 'ello 'ello... that got your attention didn't it...

Only about half is done and it's hard to photograph, but here's a bit from the back and the side...

Yet to be painted...

Behind the green door...

Behind the green door... to paraphrase Shakin' Stevens :) If you hadn't already seen inside the house, I bet you'd be busting to know what's behind the green door...

Well, as you know, at the moment, nothing... Well, not nothing, but not much... However, all the windows/sliding doors and stacker doors have been fitted... I didn't get upstairs, so only downstairs shots...

And before you ask, NO, the 'green door' is not staying green... And yes, there is a bath in the kitchen, but it appears they delivered two - so one is upstairs in the main bathroom and this one, well, I suspect it'll be going back to the supplier...

Windows & doors...

Good morning and welcome to the next installment... windows & doors...

'Some' of the windows/doors have been fitted, and with the 'sheeting' (not sure what it's called) on, it's starting to 'take shape'...

Sliding door from our bedroom to balcony (NB my fab HUGE window from corner bath - had to fight for/redesign to get that!) and funky square windows (the builder drew these in a sketch and we went, 'yeah, cool, they look good'..):

If it's not slightly insane to have 'a favourite window' (yes, this house-building malarkey does effect one's judgement on what's 'really' important in life!), I think this one in the stairwell (?) is pretty cool:

Dining area and stacker doors to back patio...

Window near lounge/built-in wall unit/stereo/bookshelf/bar area...

Where the awesome stacker doors will go...

From the back...

I didn't climb up to the seond floor today (and didn't have camera with me when I was up there yesterday), but you can see the spare room windows...

Sheeting? Ready for some lower brickwork and cladding - I think?!

Ruff!

Ah, c'mon, you've gotta let me include a dog pun...

So, yes, the ROOF is on... hurrah!

No words required to explain this, just the pics:

Kitchen revisited...

Hola!

You may remember this post... which was more 'ideas' and a vague indication of what the kitchen might look like...

I can now add the actual layout, bearing in mind this is now flipped horizontally, as our house had to be flipped horizontally (due to Council malarkey). So the pantry is on the 'wall' side, not down the hallway as this would suggest:

And the appliances:

And maybe something like this stool (x2) for the breakky bar, with pendant lights (but in green) as mentioned in the lighting post:

You, you light up my life...

Well, this is obviously a much more positive tone to begin with... it's amazing what a difference it makes (comfort level wise) to be organised and have quote comparisons :)

So we finalised our lighting quote today... Instead of having to go with the horrible lighting man (still haven't received a quote, mind you!), we went with Beacon.

Starting outside, we have the lovely 'practical' sensors and some rather funky spotties for out the back...

And a similiar little single fella (or 2) on our front balcony:

Some bog-standard ceiling lights for the cupboard under the stairs, laundry, powder room, etc. Nothin' fancy:

Standard-ish bathroom exhaust fan/light:

Bit of fan light action in the spare rooms:

A slightly funky wall light for the stairs, that looks a bit like a magazine rack ;) :

And probably the most interesting, is the downlights around the main living area, and, in all other rooms/entry hall, etc, some pretty funky ceiling lights:
